We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter protesters.  We respond to the ongoing murders, police brutality, and systemic racism against Black people with horror and outrage.

But we also acknowledge our complicity.  As architects, we must learn to recognize the ways our built environments marginalize and oppress. We must act to undo decades of racialized zoning, damaging urban renewal policies, and inadequate housing.

At Sherman Architects, we vow to listen and educate ourselves to foster change. We are committed to engagement and to practicing equity and inclusion in our firm, our community, and our city.
