For their Greenwood studios, our clients found an ugly building with a great location. The building looked like its last occupancy: a sweat shop. The interior was dark and cluttered, with little windows randomly punched through the facades.
To make the most of a tiny budget, we cut giant windows into the shell. This one upgrade elevated this corner building from messy to monumental.
Now, the once dark interiors serve as airy design studios. Broad squares of sunlight wash over floors of polished concrete and maple plywood sliced into planks. Best of all are the expansive views of Greenwood Cemetery and the harbor beyond.
