Since our first design of these integrated mirror lights, they’ve been widely copied. Not surprising, since they use an easy magic trick to seamlessly add lighting to a vanity mirror.
First, we sandblast a band of silver off the back of the mirror, then we backlight it with an LED strip. This transforms that top band from a mirror into a light diffuser, with no break or joint at the glass.
For extra task lighting at the counter, we also hide an LED strip under the bottom of the mirror. The quality of light on the user’s face is even, bright, and flattering. The trimless look is crisp, sleek, and flawless.
