New NJ House

Rumson, NJ is the farthest point reached by the Manhattan ferries. It’s a lovely neighborhood for a new house we’re building on the site of our client’s childhood home.

The new NJ house will have a shed roof with exposed beams and a deep overhang to shelter the front porch. The vertical siding is black fiber-cement board.

Inside, the house has a double-height living room. The narrow stair widens into a sculptural presence as it lands in the foyer.
